Senior abap developer

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Relevant SAP certifications are an advantage.

Experience

Strong senior-level experience in SAP ABAP development.

Extensive hands-on experience with ABAP programming, RICEF development, enhancements, integrations, SAP HANA, OData, and modern ABAP development.

Experience working with enterprise SAP environments and SAP module integration.

Responsibilities

1. Core ABAP Programming

Develop using ABAP procedural and Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP).

Develop and maintain RICEF objects:

Reports

Interfaces

Conversions

Enhancements

Forms

Work extensively with SAP Data Dictionary (DDIC) objects, including:

Tables

Views

Domains

Data Elements

Function Modules

Includes

Classes

Work extensively with internal tables, memory management, and performance optimization.

2. Enhancements & Modifications

Design and implement SAP enhancement framework solutions.

Work with:

4. Interfaces & Integration

Develop and support integrations using:

IDocs

Develop and integrate SOAP and REST web services.

Develop and support file-based interfaces using the SAP application server and AL11.

5. SAP HANA & Modern ABAP

Apply ABAP on HANA concepts.

Develop and work with CDS Views and annotations.

Develop AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures).

Apply code-pushdown techniques for improved performance.

Knowledge of RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).

Expose ABAP data and services for SAP Fiori applications.

Support integration between backend ABAP services and Fiori applications.

7. Tools & Development Lifecycle

Manage SAP transports using Transport Management System (TMS).

Use version control and code management practices.

Strong knowledge of ABAP Workbench tools, including:

SE80

SE38

SE24

Other relevant ABAP development tools

8. Testing & Quality

Perform unit testing and debugging.

Use Code Inspector and ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit) for code quality checks.

Implement proper error handling and application logging.

Follow SAP coding standards and clean-code principles.

9. Functional & Technical Collaboration

Analyze technical requirements and understand related functional requirements.

Work with SAP module integrations, particularly SAP MM.

Prepare technical specifications and development documentation.

Collaborate with functional consultants, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
