Working location Initial location: Sohar, Oman (on site)Relocation: Role will start in Oman then relocate to offshore Qatar in Jan 2027. Work schedule and allowances Oman: Location - Sohar on site Schedule - 5 days per week, 8 hours per day Allowance - Full board accommodation and transportation provided. Qatar: Role relocates to Qatar on 1 Jan 2027 Location - Qatar offshore Schedule - 28/28, 12 hours per day Key responsibilities and accountabilities During the onshore construction and commissioning phase on yard, the start-up Multi Tech will assist the Start-up Supervisor with: The witness of the Operational Test Procedure (OTP). The execution of the OTP. The execution of the commissioning (leak test, function test, etc.). Preparation of the start-up procedures and the operation. The Multi-Tech will accommodate with the project on the offshore temporary accommodation. They will follow the commissioning activities as seconded to the Start-up Supervisor as Field Operation representative and prepare the first oil of the new wellhead platform. Activities Identify, in conjunction with the Start-up Supervisor and Operating Authority (OTL), the procedures and precautions to be taken to provide a safe place for the intended start-up activities. Assist the Start-up Supervisor and finalize on-site start-up procedures, sharing them with the Field Operation core crew to make them applicable on site. Assist the Start-up Supervisor to finalize a detailed start-up sequence in close collaboration with the core Field Operation crew on site. Participate in the preparation of the kick-off meeting for start-up activities. Participate in the preparation of the risk assessment of the activities to be performed during the start-up. Prepare, as Area Authority, the potential Permit to Work required for start-up activities associated with Company Only Fluid (COF). Liaise with the Start-up Supervisor on the main site to coordinate the progress of the start-up. Contribute to updating the start-up monitoring tools as required with the Start-up Supervisor. Take part in every Permit to Work meeting related to start-up and commissioning activities. Witness, along with the Start-up Supervisor, the Operational Tests performed by commissioning and liaise with the Field Operation team. Assist the Start-up Supervisor in preparing the request and order for required start-up tools, and ensure proper storage and identification of the start-up tools. Prepare the operation of first fill with the commissioning team. Prepare arrival on site (PTW, KOM, JSA, etc.) of vendors involved in the start-up of the facility. Identify and check the critical valves (especially on brownfield) used as battery limits for leak tests. Check any type B and C punch list and investigate if requested by the Start-up Supervisor, Field Operations Lead, the OTL or the OIM. Ensure the list of inhibitions and isolations, with associated certificates and risk assessments, is properly signed and validated by the relevant persons. Be aware of potential downgraded situations on site and update the core crew on any changes associated with start-up activity. Participate in Haz Id, JSA and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews of new facilities. Prepare, update and check on site the red line mark-up P&ID at the end of the construction and during commissioning phase. Ensure a set of up-to-date P&IDs is always available for the Field Operation team. Contribute to the Incident Free initiative on site by reporting any anomaly, defect, bad practice, lack of equipment or lack of competence. Assist the Start-up Supervisor to ensure all operators on site are well aware of the new safety systems and process upgrades brought by the project. Maintain local signage and barriers adapted to the situation over time, with special attention to the boundaries of the Sim Ops area, the exit walkways and scaffolds. Assist the teams with procedures for mechanical isolations, de-isolations and draining. Suggest improvements and request modifications if Operating Procedures are not satisfactory. All staff must be willing to participate in crisis response training and to assist during emergency response situations if required. Context and environment Position will be full-time onshore work during engineering and construction in yards. Offshore rotation during HUC and start-up. Travel between sites will be necessary. During the offshore phase work will be on a rotation of 28 days on / 28 days off offshore Al Shaheen Field. The position will transition to Offshore FOPS on completion of the project. Minimum qualifications and experience Education: Higher National Diploma or certificate (equivalent to A-levels + 2 years' study). Industry experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in oil and gas production operations. COMPEX Certification is mandatory.5+ years of experience in offshore oil and gas production facilities. Previous experience with national oil companies or large international operators is an advantage. Technical, personal and linguistic competencies Ability to work independently while maintaining good relations with colleagues and others. Proven sense of operational responsibility and courage to intervene and challenge. Previous experience with offshore operation, production, oil and gas, preferably former control room operators. Willingness to work flexible shifts and extended shifts as required. Fluent in written and spoken English. Professional and HSE certifications Basic firefighting. T-BOSIET, H2 S training OPITO approved. PTW training and JSA awareness. Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Authorized Gas Tester. Lifting and rigging training, manual handling training. Hazard and energy control Lockout and Tagout awareness. Additional technical information Thorough knowledge of instrumentation and measurement signal principles, safety systems (ESD / Fire and Gas), field calibration equipment and tools such as Hart Communicators. Thorough knowledge of Ex philosophies and principles used in the petrochemical industry, with participation in and passing of Comp Ex course (Ex1-4). Demonstrable evidence of attending and passing a qualification in Small Tube Boring. Some production operator experience preferable. Thorough knowledge of HV and LV equipment such as generators, motors, electrical systems and associated switchgear. Good understanding of how to read electrical circuit diagrams. Thorough knowledge of Ex philosophies and principles used in the petrochemical industry, with participation in and passing of Comp Ex course (Ex1-4). Some production operator experience preferable.
