Job Description

Librarian (Malayalees Preferred)

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Muscat. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the library, including maintaining the collection, assisting patrons, and overseeing library programs and events. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Library Science or a related field, as well as strong communication and customer service skills. Fluency in English is required for this position. This job is suitable for men and part-time work arrangements can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the library, including cataloging, shelving, and organizing materials

Provide excellent customer service to patrons by assisting with research requests, recommending books/resources, and answering questions

Plan and implement library programs and events to engage the community

Maintain accurate records of library materials, circulation statistics, and patron information

Stay up-to-date on new library technology and trends in librarianship

Train and supervise library staff members

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field

Proven experience as a Librarian or similar role

Strong communication skills in English (fluency is required)

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Familiarity with library management systems and technology

Knowledge of Malayalam language preferred (but not required)

Salary: 1600$ per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Muscat (Malayalee candidates preferred)
