Job Description

To perform, evaluate, and report Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) on welded joints and critical components during offshore construction and installation activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements while strictly adhering to offshore HSE standards. Key Responsibilities Perform PAUT inspections on offshore piping welds, CS, SS, CRA, structural welds and nodes, pressure vessels and pipelines as applicable. Ensure inspections are carried out in accordance with approved PAUT procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs) and offshore work packs. Equipment Setup and Calibration: set up and calibrate PAUT equipment including phased-array probes and wedges, encoders and scanners (manual or semi-automated). Conduct calibration using approved reference blocks and project-specific calibration standards. Ensure all NDT equipment has valid calibration certificates. Data Acquisition and Interpretation: perform data acquisition and analysis using PAUT software. Interpret A-scan, B-scan, C-scan and S-scan data. Detect, evaluate and size discontinuities such as lack of fusion, lack of penetration, cracks, porosity and inclusions. Reporting and Documentation: prepare accurate and timely PAUT reports, scan plans, and data files. Provide repair and re-inspection reports. Ensure full traceability of welds and inspection records. Support mechanical completion, pre‑commissioning and dossier handover.
